State Farm® Insurance Agent Jose Vargas

"I have never had any communication at all with Jose Vargas and only emails or texts with someone from his agency. I have had nothing but problems with State Farm since I bought my house. I went with them on the recommendation of my mortgage broker who, after everything I've had to deal with, now says they regret sending me to them. I was told my policy was in place and sent the declarations pages so we proceeded with closing on my house on November 5th. Within 2 weeks I was sent a text message telling me my policy couldn't be issued unless I fixed the "problems" a 3rd party inspector said was wrong with the roof. The roof was just replaced several months before I bought the house but, more important, I was not made aware of any inspection taking place nor was I present for it. When I asked for clarification I was sent a partial picture of my roof with pine needles on it. Given it was mid-November I figured they would realize trees drop leaves and needles. Evidently they considered that damage to my roof and I was told I needed to "fix" it. I was also told I needed to "clear the branches" from the roof. The trees on my property are over 30 feet tall and the closet branches are more than 10 feet above the roof. I would literally have to have four 30+ ft trees cut down and one is on both mine and my neighbors properties. I was told just clearing the debris would be enough. So I cleared them from the roof, sent in pictures and was told everything was fine. Then, 3 weeks after that I received a letter in the mail AGAIN stating that my roof was damaged and my policy was being canceled and was also sent a refund check. This time I called my mortgage broker and they got clarification. They were told the letter and check were "automatically generated" and sent out but that my policy was still in place. Fast forward 2 more weeks and I get ANOTHER letter stating that State Farm didn't receive yet ANOTHER bit of information I was neither told about nor had access to due to the fact that they wanted itemized proof of updates to the plumbing and electrical systems. That was information I didn't have access to but my real estate agent contacted the seller and obtained the records and submitted them to State Farm. Despite that State Farm went ahead and nearly doubled my premium stating, AGAIN, they didn't receive the information. By this time I was at my over the whole situation and searched for another insurance company. Within 2 weeks I secured a policy with another company that was simple to aquire, just a few dollars more than the State Farm policy, had better terms and didn't involve all the complications I had to navigate with State Farm. The next complication has been trying to cancel the State Farm policy. This time I went in person to the office and was assured the policy is canceled and I would receive a refund check shortly. Imagine my surprise today when I open my mail and receive a BILL instead of the refund check! My policy was in an escrow account so it was PAID IN FULL for the year when the sale was finalized! I am completely over dealing with State Farm and the lack of communication from this agency! Now I have to take ANOTHER day off work to get this straightened out AGAIN because I just don't trust doing this over the phone or text or email anymore! I will NEVER use State Farm insurance again nor will I EVER recommend them!"
